The first day of the 2-day Fes to Merzouga tour begins with a morning pick-up from your accommodation. The private driver will greet you at around 8:30 AM and take you on a scenic journey towards Merzouga.

Along the way, you will pass through Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” because of its European-style architecture and clean streets.

Next, you will travel through the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to the Barbary macaque monkeys. You can stop to take pictures and even feed the monkeys before continuing your journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains.

As you drive further south, you will pass through the Ziz Valley, famous for its lush palm groves and traditional Berber villages. The landscape gradually changes from mountains to desert as you approach Merzouga.

Upon arrival in Merzouga, you will meet your camel guide and begin a camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes. The ride takes about an hour and offers stunning views of the sunset over the dunes. At the desert camp, you will enjoy a traditional Berber dinner, listen to live music around the campfire, and sleep in a comfortable tent under the stars.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert » Ziz Valley » Fes [469 km]:

Wake up early to watch the magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, you will ride the camels back to Merzouga or take a 4×4 transfer if you prefer.

From Merzouga, you will start the journey back to Fes, passing through the same scenic landscapes. You can stop for lunch in Midelt, a small town known for its apple orchards and mountain views. After lunch, you will continue driving through the Middle Atlas until you arrive in Fes in the evening, marking the end of your desert adventure.
