Day 1: Ouarzazate » Dades Gorges

Begin our 2 days tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga by departing from your hotel in the morning. Skoura Oasis is the first stop on your itinerary. You will explore the huge palm groves and learn about local agriculture. Visit the beautiful Kasbah Amredhil and tour its little museum.

We then continue along the Valley of the Roses to Kel’aa M’gouna. You will visit the local co-operatives which make products.Afterwards, we drive off-track along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to Dades Gorges. Enjoy lunch in one of the restaurants overlooking the valley.

In the afternoon, continue travel along the beautiful Ziz Valley and, via the Oasis of Tafilalet, arrive in Erfoud.

Visit the fossil artefact workshops after lunch. There is no obligation to buy, but the displays are worth exploring. Your desert trip continues east beyond Rissani, the last town before the Sahara Desert, in the afternoon.

Arriving in Merzouga Here we will find our camels that are waiting for a Sahara trip through the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. At the camp, enjoy a relaxing glass of tea and Moroccan biscuits and check in to your tent.

At night, dinner will be served and followed by a Berber musical play. Sleep in a private nomad tent in a desert camp among the dunes.

Day 2: Merzouga » Ouarzazate

Get up early on the last day of our 2 days tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga to be rewarded with a fantastic sunrise view. After breakfast, there will be time for another camel ride and a tour around the dunes.

We next drive to Ouarzazate, passing through various Berber villages. Rissani, Alnif, Tazzarine, which featured in the film “Babel,” and N’Qob, which will be the location for lunch.

In the afternoon, we’ll go off-road through the vast palm groves and green oasis of Dra’a Valley. A local guide will take you to Kasbah Tamnougalt. This is the valley’s oldest kasbah, which is still partially inhabited.

Back on the paved road, we drive to Agdz, where we stop for a tea or coffee break. We cross the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-n-Tinfifite pass to arrive back at Ouarzazate. The 2 days tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga Sahara has come to an end!

We did a 2 days tour with 1 night in the desert of Merzouga. Said was really welcoming and let us personalize the tour. We had a really wonderful experience, also thanks to our driver, Mohamed, who explained a lot of things to us and made our journey very confortable. We really reccomend this tour, expecially the desert!

Skoura palmeraie, or palm grove, is the largest oasis in the Dades Valley, located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. It’s a massive tree grove in the middle of the desert with over 70,000 palm, fig, almond, and pomegranate trees.

The settlement of Skoura was formed in the 17th century after Sultan Moulay Ismail ordered the construction of many fortifications in the area to protect it against enemy attacks.
