Day 1: Tangier » Chefchaouen
Your 8-day adventure starts in Tangier, a gateway between Europe and Africa. After meeting your driver, you’ll travel through the Rif Mountains, enjoying scenic landscapes all the way to Chefchaouen.
This small town is famous for its blue-painted walls, narrow alleys, and peaceful vibes. You’ll have time to explore the old medina, visit local shops, and dine in a rooftop restaurant with stunning mountain views.

Day 2: Chefchaouen » Volubilis, An Ancient Roman City » Meknes » Fes
After breakfast, the journey continues toward Volubilis, an impressive Roman archaeological site. Walk among ancient columns and mosaics as you learn about Morocco’s Roman history.
Next, head to Meknes, one of the Imperial Cities. Visit Bab El Mansour, one of the most beautiful gates in Morocco, and explore the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum.
Later in the afternoon, you’ll arrive in Fes, the cultural and spiritual heart of Morocco.

Day 3: Visiting Fes attractions
The third day of our 8 days trip from Tangier to Marrakech will be a tour to explore the city of Fes. The trip will begin in the morning from your accommodation. Your local travel guide will arrive to pick you up to see the Madrasa Bou Inania. Abou Inan Faris created an architectural school in AD 1351–56. One of the religious monuments in Fes that non-Muslims can enter. It is also recognized as a center where children are taught the Quran and other Islamic subjects.
Secondly, we will visit Fes El Bali, popularly known as Fes’s old city. The majority of the local riads (hotels) may be found there. To get there, use the “Bab Boujloud” main gate. Several famous souks and historic Moroccan monuments can be found here. For example, the Al-Andalus mosque, Medersa Sehrij.
Thirdly, you and your guide will visit the Chouara tanneries, famous as the largest in the cultural city. It is the home of several handcrafted leather products. The artists use only unique spices to paint the leather, and it is completely dry by the end of the day. It is recommended that you go to the nearby roofs owned by the shop’s proprietors for the best views.
Another visit will be to the Jewish Quarter, often known as Mellah. A well-known location in Fes, El Jedid, it depicts how the Jewish community in Fes lived in its early 20th century dwellings.
Day 4: Fes » Ifrane » Merzouga Desert
Today’s route takes you into the heart of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and pass through Azrou where you may see Barbary macaque monkeys in the cedar forest.
Travel through Ziz Valley, famous for its palm trees and views, before reaching Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara.
In the late afternoon, you’ll enjoy a camel ride into the desert, crossing the golden Erg Chebbi dunes to reach your Sahara desert camp.
Enjoy a Berber-style dinner, drumming around the campfire, and sleep under the stars.
Day 5: Merzouga » Khamlia » Ouzina
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes – a magical sight you’ll never forget. After breakfast and a shower, return to Merzouga on camels.
Visit Khamlia Village, home to people of Sub-Saharan origin. Enjoy a traditional tea ceremony with live Gnawa music.
Continue through Mefis (an old mining village), Taouz, and the Ouzina desert, following parts of the old Paris-Dakar rally route. See ancient rock carvings, enjoy Berber pizza with a local family, and perhaps get a henna tattoo.
Overnight stay at a hotel in the quiet Ouzina desert.
Day 6: Ouzina » Merzouga» Rissani » Todra Gorges » Dades Valley
After breakfast, return to Merzouga and head to Rissani, a historic market town. Visit the local souk, where people from across the region come to buy goods.
Next, drive to the Todra Gorges, a stunning canyon with towering rock walls, perfect for photos and short hikes.
Continue through the Dades Valley, filled with red rock formations and kasbahs. This area is also known as the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs.”
Overnight in a cozy hotel or riad in Dades.
Day 7: Dades Valley » Ait Ben Haddou » Marrakech
Start your day with a scenic drive through Kalaat Mgouna, famous for its rose products, and Skoura, a beautiful oasis.
In Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa”, you can visit Atlas Studios where many films were shot, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
The highlight of the day is Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This ancient mud-brick village is one of the most famous filming locations in Morocco.
Cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260m) with stunning views and photo stops.
Arrive in Marrakech in the evening.
Day 8: Visiting Marrakech attractions
We dedicate the last day of this tour from Tangier to Marrakech to exploring and visiting the best sites and monuments of Marrakech.
We will take you to cultural and historical attractions such as Majorelle Gardens, Koutoubia Tower, Saadian Tombs, and the magnificent Bahia Palace. Lunch will be served in the medina, near to Marrakech’s colorful center (Jmaa El Fnaa Square).Afterwards, take a walk through the souks with their various stores and hundreds of handicrafts. The afternoon is free for you to take a walk and explore more. Overnight stay at the riad.
