Day 1: Casablanca » Marrakech
After breakfast, depart with your driver/guide from your Casablanca riad/hotel in the direction of Marrakech. Marrakech, one of Morocco’s major cities, is the most important of the four Imperial Cities and is located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Depart with the official guide for a tour of the city, also known as the “Pearl of the South” and “Red” because of the red walls that encircle it and the different structures of similar hues erected around the same period utilizing red stones and sand. Visit the Bahia Palace, El Badi Palace, Saadien Tombs, Ben Youssef’s ancient Koranic school, the Menara Gardens, the Mosque, and the Koutoubia Minaret. Short break for lunch on one of the terraces overlooking the Jemaa el-Fna square, then on to the Mosque and the Koutoubia Minaret, the Majorelle Gardens, and the newly inaugurated Yves Saint Laurent Museum. Spend the night in a riad/hotel.
Day 2: Marrakech » Ait Ben Haddou » Ouarzazate » Dades Valley
We will begin the second day of our 9 days tour from Casablanca to Merzouga after breakfast. Dades Valley will be our destination. The Tizi n’Tichka mountain trail will traverse the Atlas Mountains (2,260 m). We’ll also take in the panoramic vista before arriving at Ait Ben Haddou. The homes in the kasbah are tightly packed together behind defensive walls and corner towers. You will ascend the Kasbah and witness authentic Adobe houses. Furthermore, Ouarzazate, Africa’s Hollywood, has access to film studios. This region has been used to film several films, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones. We will also go to Rose Valley before spending the night in a local hostel in Dades Valley.
Day 3: Dades Gorge » Todra Gorge » Tafilalet Oasis » Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, we’ll travel to the Todgha Gorges. As a result, it is well-known among rock climbers as a limestone river canyon paradise. We’ll travel to Touroug to learn about another culture and visit a Berber fabric cooperative. Then we proceed to Erfoud, a town known for its dates and petrified products. In addition, we will go to the desert of Merzouga and walk by camel to your camp. Your camel guide will bring you to the top of the dune to see the sunset. After dinner, you and the blue guys gather around the fire to listen to their music. Spend the night under the stars as well.
Day 4: Merzouga » Khamlia »Taouz »Jdaid village » Ouzina desert
On the fourth day of our 9 days tour from Casablanca to Ouzina, it’s well worth getting up early to view the most incredible sunrise you’ve ever seen from the top of a dune near the camp and savor the unusual environment.
After this incredible encounter, a great breakfast awaits you. Take a shower before returning to Merzouga by camel.
We’ll drive to Kamilia Village, where the bulk of the population is of Sub-Saharan ancestry (Black African), and sip tea while listening to Gnawa music. Later, we will travel to Taouz, where we will follow the ancient Paris Dakar Rally route to see some spectacular rock inscriptions, and we will stop in Jdaid for lunch (Berber Pizza and Tea) and to get Henna tattooed. In the afternoon, we’ll go to the Ouzina desert hotel, where we’ll spend the night.
Day 5: Ouzina » Merzouga » Ziz valley » Cedar forest » Ifrane » Fes
After breakfast, we begin the next day of a 7-day private journey from Casablanca to Merzouga in the north, passing through the world’s largest palm plantation, Tafilalet. Thousands of palm trees line the 20-kilometer drive.
This route leads to the Ziz Valley, where the Ziz River comes down from the high Atlas Mountains to irrigate the palm grove. From this vantage point, we have a spectacular view of the valley and the settlement of Aoufous. We continue on to Midelt, which is located in the heart of the Atlas Mountains, where you may eat lunch and relax for a while.
In the afternoon, we’ll explore Cedar Woods, hoping to spot monkeys. Then we’ll visit Ifrane, a picturesque city at 1630 meters above sea level, resembling a Swiss town with its clean streets, gardens, and beautiful architecture. Finally, we’ll reach Fez by 6 p.m. and check into our hotel.
Day 6: Visiting Fes attractions
On the sixth day of our 9-day trip from Casablanca to Merzouga, we will spend our time exploring Fes. We will start in the morning from your hotel, where you will meet your local tour guide at the Madrasa Bou Inania. This architectural school was established by Abou Inan Faris in AD 1351-56 and is open to non-Muslims, serving as a religious monument in Fes. It is also renowned as a center for teaching the Quran and other Islamic subjects to children.
Next, we will head to Fes El Bali, also known as the old city of Fes. Many riads (hotels) can be found in this area, and the main entrance to reach it is through the “Bab Boujloud” gate. Here, you will find various famous souks and historical Moroccan landmarks. One example is the Al-Andalus mosque, known as Medersa Sehrij.
Lastly, your guide will take you to the Chouara tanneries, which are considered the largest in this culturally rich city. These tanneries showcase a wide range of handmade leather products. Skilled artisans apply unique spices to paint the leather, and it is completely dried by the end of the day. For the most stunning views, it is recommended to visit the nearby rooftops owned by the shop owners.
Day 7: Fes » Chefchaouen
On the seventh day of your 9-day desert trip from Casablanca, your driver will pick you up and take you to the Blue Pearl (Chefchaouen). First, you will have the option to see Volubilis (the Roman ruins). After viewing the Roman ruins, your driver will take you to Chefchaouen, where you will check into your hotel and rest. Later, you will get the opportunity to explore Chaouen and appreciate its blue streets. At the end of the day, you will return to your hotel.
Day 8: Chefchaouen » Tangier
On the eighth day of our 9-day tour starting from Casablanca, we will start the day with breakfast at your hotel. Our journey will take us north to Tangier, a bustling metropolis in northwestern Morocco. In Tangier, you will have the opportunity to visit awe-inspiring places such as Cape Spartel, where the Mediterranean and Atlantic seas meet. Furthermore, you can explore the Heracles caves and the Tanagers Kasbah, which have served as the political and military center of Tangier since ancient Roman times. At the end of the day, you will check into your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 9: Tangier » Rabat » Casablanca
On the final day of your 9 days excursion in Morocco, we will leave your Tangier hotel and head towards Casablanca. While passing through Rabat, we will visit the Oudaya Kasbah, Mohammed V’s mausoleum, and the Hassan Tower. Afterward, we will continue our journey to Casablanca and once we arrive, we will proceed to check-in at the hotel.
