Day 1 : Marrakech - High Atlas - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Valley
On this 3 days desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga, our professional drivers will pick you up from your accommodation at 8:00 AM. This memorable trip starts with crossing the Tizi-N-Tichka pass (2’260 m), where you can spot the traditional Berber villages with their inhabitants working and chatting at the roadside. Shortly before Ouarzazate, the desert’s capital, you have the opportunity to visit the famed Kasbah Ait-Ben-Haddou, a fortified clay city with multiple ksars and kasbahs, It’s where Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and Prince of Persia were filmed.
After lunch, we’ll continue south along the Road of 1000 Kasbahs to the Dades gorges, passing through Ouarzazate, Skoura, and the Valley of Roses in Kalaat M’Gouna. If we still have time after arriving at the Gorges in the evening, we’ll drive to the amazing rock formations (known as the monkey fingers), if not! We’ll go the next day. Day 2 : Gorges Dades – Tinghir – Tinjedad - Merzouga:
We’ll start the second day of our 3-day Marrakech desert tour with a delicious breakfast before traveling to Tineghir, where we’ll stop for a panoramic view of charming Berber villages and an oasis filled with palm trees. Within a short distance is a canyon called Toudgha Gorge, which is 300 meters high; we’ll take a walk through this deep canyon.
After this visit, continue to Erfoud via the Berber Bedouin villages of southern Morocco, arriving in Merzouga. Where we will find our camels, ready for a Sahara trip through the Erg Chebbi dunes. During the trek, you’ll stop on a high dune to enjoy the sun setting over Erg Chebbi’s golden dunes.
After the sun sets, you will proceed to the camp, where you will be greeted with a glass of mint tea, dinner, a campfire, a music party, and an overnight stay at Berber camp Merzouga.
Day 3: Merzouga » N'kob » Agdz » High Atlas Mountains » Marrakech
After watching the sunrise on the last day of our 3-day desert tour from Marrakech, you’ll have breakfast and shower at camp before riding camels or taking a 4WD back to the starting point, where you’ll meet your driver.
Then we’ll drive back to Marrakech through the arid pre-desert area, where we’ll see acacia trees that are typical of this landscape.
