Day 1: Ouarzazate » Draa Valley » Zagora » Mhamid

We will pick you up from the hotel where you are staying in Ouarzazate at 8 am to start the 3 days tour from Ouarzazate to Erg Chegaga.We will travel over the Anti-Atlas Mountains and via the Tizi-n-Tinfifite pass to Agdz. Here, stop for a tea or a coffee break.

Soon after, we take a detour through the palm groves and fortified kasbahs of the Dra’a Valley. A local guide will take you to Kasbah Tamnougalt. This is the valley’s oldest kasbah, which is still partially inhabited.Next, drive along the ancient road of the caravans as far as Zagora, which will be the venue for lunch.In the afternoon, visit the local pottery workshops and learn how to make your favourite pottery item.

Driving further south, we will reach M’hamid, which marks the beginning of the desert. An hour-long camel ride takes you to the top of Erg Lihoudi’s dunes. Enjoy a soothing sip of tea and the first desert sensations after checking into your tent.Then, climb up to the summit and witness the spectacle of the sunset.

Taste dinner under the Saharan sky and immerse yourself in the desert at night. Join the nomads for an evening of singing and dance. Later at night, your little nomad tent provides a comfortable spot to sleep.

Day 2: Mhamid » Erg Chigaga

On the second day of our 3 days tour from Ouarzazate to lake chagaga, if you get up early in the morning and climb up to the summit of the dunes, you will be rewarded with an amazing spectacle of the sunrise.After breakfast, there will be an opportunity to roam around the dunes before returning to M’hamid on camel for lunch.

After breakfast, our 3 days tour continues from Erg Chagaga desert to Ouarzazate over another 95 km of off-road driving through a variety of attractions, including wind-blown sand dunes, dry Iriqui Lake, where you may dig for fossils, and mountains.

In Foum Zguid, the first town after the desert, there will be an opportunity to take a shower to freshen up and to have lunch.

Back on the paved road, we pass through the village of Taznakht, where you can learn about Berber rugs and carpets and, if desired, purchase one.
