Day 1: Ouarzazate » Dades Gorges

Your adventure begins in Ouarzazate, also known as the “Gateway to the Sahara.” After pickup from your hotel, the first stop is the Skoura Oasis, where you’ll walk through vast palm groves and learn about local farming traditions. You will also visit the beautiful Kasbah Amredhil, an iconic fortress with a small museum.

Next, the journey continues through the Valley of the Roses towards Kel’aa M’gouna. Here, you’ll stop at local co-operatives that produce rose water and cosmetics. Driving along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, you’ll reach the spectacular Dades Gorges.

After lunch in a panoramic restaurant, you can take a walk along the riverbanks and explore Berber gardens. Later, we continue towards the Toudgha Gorges, where dinner and an overnight stay in a charming guesthouse await you.

Day 2: Dades Gorges » Merzouga

After breakfast, you can hike through the Dades Valley or explore the gorges with a local guide. The route then follows the scenic Ziz Valley to Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops.

In the afternoon, we pass through Rissani, the last town before the desert, and finally reach Merzouga. Here, camels will be waiting to take you across the towering dunes of Erg Chebbi.

At the desert camp, you’ll be welcomed with Moroccan tea and biscuits before settling into your private tent. After a traditional dinner, enjoy an evening of Berber drums and music under the starry Sahara sky.

Day 3:» Merzouga »Khamliya » Jdaid » Tafraout Sidi Ali » Zagora

Start your day early with a climb to the dune summit to watch the sunrise over Erg Chebbi—a once-in-a-lifetime view. After breakfast and an optional second camel ride, the journey continues through Berber villages.

We’ll visit Khamlia, home to the Gnawa people, where you can experience their mystical music and traditions. The road takes us past Taouz to see ancient rock engravings and then through Jdaid town.

After exploring baryte mines and the Lost City (Oubahlou), we stop for lunch at Tafraout Sidi Ali. The afternoon drive follows parts of the legendary Paris-Dakar Rally route, crossing the Black Desert and reaching the Dra’a Valley before arriving in Zagora. Overnight stay in a traditional guesthouse.

Day 4: Zagora » Ouarzazate

On the final day, after breakfast, we head to Tamegroute village to visit its famous green pottery workshops and the historic Koranic library. The return route follows the old Caravan Road through the Dra’a Valley.

We stop at Kasbah Tamnougalt, a 16th-century adobe fortress that once guarded trade caravans between Marrakech and Timbuktu. Finally, we cross the Anti-Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tinfifite Pass (1660m) before returning to Ouarzazate.
