Day 1: Ouarzazate » Dades Gorges

Begin our 4 days tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga by departing from your hotel in the morning. Skoura Oasis is the first stop on your itinerary. You will explore the huge palm groves and learn about local agriculture. Visit the beautiful Kasbah Amredhil and tour its little museum.

We then continue along the Valley of the Roses to Kel’aa M’gouna. You will visit the local co-operatives which make products.Afterwards, we drive off-track along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to Dades Gorges. Enjoy lunch in one of the restaurants overlooking the valley.

Take a walk along the riverbank in the afternoon and explore the garden fields. We next drive to the Toudgha Gorges, where a guesthouse offers dinner and a night’s rest.

Day 2: Dades Gorges » Merzouga

After breakfast,we start on the second day of our 4 days package from Ouarzazate to Merzouga by exploring the gorges or going for a hike with a local guide. Then, travel along the beautiful Ziz Valley and via the Oasis of Tafilalet, arrive in Erfoud.

Visit the fossil artefact workshops after lunch. There is no obligation to buy, but the displays are worth exploring. Your desert trip continues east beyond Rissani, the last town before the Sahara Desert, in the afternoon.

Arriving in Merzouga Here we will find our camels that are waiting for a Sahara trip through the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi.At the camp, enjoy a relaxing glass of tea and Moroccan biscuits and check in to your tent.

At night, dinner will be served and followed by a Berber musical play. Sleep in a private nomad tent in a desert camp among the dunes.

Day 3:» Merzouga »Khamliya » Jdaid » Tafraout Sidi Ali » Zagora

Wake up early in the morning on the third day of our 4 days tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga and ascend the summit of the dunes. You will be rewarded with spectacular views of the sunrise. After breakfast, there is the opportunity for a second camel ride.

Then, your Merzouga desert tour adventure continues to Zagora via Berber villages like Khamlia, where we will visit Gnawa people playing Gnawa music.

Afterwards, the route continues through Taouz, where we will follow the ancient Paris-Dakar Rally route to see some amazing rock engravings, and we will pass through the town of Jdaid.

We will continue driving to the Tijakhet area to explore baryte mines and how people work in these mines. From here, we will make our way to the Bourika oasis and the Lost City, also known as Oubahlou (the Portuguese city).

We arrive at Tafraout Sidi Ali where we stop for lunch.

Afterwards, the adventure continues on the track that was used in the Rally Paris-Dakar to cross the hamadas and ergs of the Black Desert. We will pass through the plateaus of Oumjran and the Draa valley.

In the afternoon, we will arrive in Zagora. The night will be spent in a beautiful guesthouse.

Day 4: Zagora » Ouarzazate

On the last day of our 4 days trip from Ouarzazate to Merzouga, we will go back to Ouarzazate. After breakfast,we drive south to Tamegroute village. Here, you will visit the green pottery workshops and learn how to make pottery items and the Koranic library. The return to Ouarzazate takes you off-road along the old Road of the Caravans.

We stop to visit the Dra’a Valley and have lunch. Then, with a local guide, go to Kasbah Tamnougalte. The kasbah is entirely made of adobe and is still partially inhabited.

In the afternoon, we return to Ouarzazate through the Anti-Atlas and the Tizi-n-Tinfifite pass (1660m). You will be escorted to your hotel to conclude our 4 days tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga.

Skoura palmeraie, or palm grove, is the largest oasis in the Dades Valley, located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. It’s a massive tree grove in the middle of the desert with over 70,000 palm, fig, almond, and pomegranate trees.
