Itinerary for the 3 days from Marrakech to Merzouga:

Day 1 : Marrakech » High Atlas » Ait Ben Haddou » Ouarzazate » Dades Valley

We leave Marrakech early at 7:30 AM, starting our journey by driving across the scenic High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi N’tichka pass, one of the highest in North Africa.

Along the way, we will pass through Berber villages, stop for photo breaks at mountain viewpoints, and visit the ancient Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a famous filming location for movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

After lunch near the kasbah, we continue towards Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa. We’ll visit the Taourirt Kasbah and pass by the Atlas Film Studios.

Next, we head to Skoura Oasis and the Valley of Roses, famous for its local rose water products. By evening, we arrive in Dades Valley, where you will spend the night in a charming hotel with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 2 : Gorges Dades » Tinghir » Tinjedad » Merzouga

After breakfast, the adventure continues as we drive through the beautiful Dades Valley, filled with red cliffs and ancient kasbahs.

Our next stop is the stunning Todra Gorge, where you’ll see 300-meter-high walls and crystal-clear water flowing through. It’s a great place for a short walk and photo stop.

We then continue our trip through Tinjdad and Erfoud, known for its date palms and fossils. We’ll have lunch on the way, then drive to Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes.

In Merzouga, your real desert adventure begins. You’ll mount your camel and ride for about 1 hour into the golden sand dunes during sunset—a peaceful and unforgettable moment.

You will arrive at our desert camp nestled among the dunes, where you will enjoy dinner, traditional Berber music by the campfire, and sleep under the stars or in a cozy nomadic tent.

Day 3: Merzouga » N'kob » Agdz » High Atlas Mountains » Marrakech

Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the Sahara dunes—an experience you will never forget.

After breakfast, we ride the camels back to Merzouga and begin our journey back to Marrakech. We pass again through Rose Valley, Ouarzazate, and drive across the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi N’tichka Pass.

We stop for lunch along the way and arrive back in Marrakech by the evening, where we will drop you off at your accommodation or the nearest accessible point.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.
A vegetarian option is available; please specify this while making your booking.

Free Booking! To book a Marrakech to Merzouga 3 days shared tour, usually, we ask for a small deposit to be paid through our Paypal or Payoneer accounts. The rest of the payment is payable in cash to your driver/guide at the pick-up.

The deposit is completely free. To avoid carrying large amounts of cash, paying the full amount or half off using Paypal or Payoneer is possible.

To receive a complete refund, please cancel at least 8 days before the date of the 3-day shared desert tour from Marrakech.

If you cancel less than 8 days before your trip, your deposit is non-refundable. However, it is still available for use if you reschedule your trip in the future. Simply email us to cancel your trip.

The best Marrakech desert tour in 3 days!

My first visit to the Sahara desert was on a three-day desert tour from Marrakech, and it was breathtaking. We started in Marrakech, where we were met by Said, who would accompany us during the three-day journey. He was the best driver and travel companion we'd ever had, and he taught us so much about Moroccan culture. The journey was wonderful because of him and the guides we met along the route. We met many other folks over the three-day desert journey, and I swear I will never forget them all.
